McDonald's Around the World

One of our favorite things to do is to try the local cuisine at McDonald's around the world.  In Thailand, it was the corn pie and pineapple pie.

McDonald's in Bangkok.
Neither were as good as they sound.

Brian also tried the spam breakfast at the McDonald's in Hawaii, but Spam is just not my thing.  Yuck!

Here in Saudi, we had been seeing these advertisements for the McArabia, and that sounded obviously like something we needed to try.

We headed to our local McDonald's family section for the McArabia one evening after Brian got home from work.  For those of y'all that don't know, most places in Saudi have two sections... one for single men, and one for women/children/families.

Pardon the blurriness.  It was incredibly humid and my lens fogged up!

Little did we know there were multiple options for McArabias!

So many choices!

I chose the crispy chicken, and Brian got the kofta.  The crispy chicken tasted like a cross between a regular and a Spicy McChicken (a little spice, but not quite at the Spicy McChicken level).  I enjoyed the honey mustard element a lot!  The pita was soft and delicious.  Brian's kofta looked like a regular hamburger patty but tasted more like a gyro.  His was pretty good, but I preferred mine.  I'm not sure I liked it enough to get it again, but it was fun to experience new and unique McDonald's menu items!

McArabia!!!

The best part about McDonald's here is the ice cream cone is only ONE riyal!  Y'all...that's 27 cents.  How can you afford NOT to get one?!

It was prayer time so the lights were off, but you don't need lights to enjoy soft serve ice cream!
